January is a busy month as we prepare to release a range of reports and data sets so that you can understand the economic backdrop for your sector or region over the year ahead. This short note outlines the key dates you need to keep in mind this month and who to get in touch with if you have any questions.

Building forecasts and Regional Construction Outlook – 3 February 2017
Infometrics quarterly building forecasts will be released to subscribers.
The forecasts provide detailed commentary and analysis of both residential and non-residential construction. There is discussion of specific trends for subsectors such as apartments, residential alterations, and a range of seven non-residential building types from commercial to hospital building.
Subscribers to the Regional Construction Outlook will also receive a range of updated in-depth regional, territorial authority and Auckland ward level historic and forecast construction data.

Transport forecasts – 3 February 2017
Infometrics transport forecasts will be released to subscribers.
The forecasts provide in-depth analysis of many of the key factors driving vehicle sales. From this base, detailed forecasts are prepared for both new and imported used car registrations , as well as light commercial and heavy truck registrations. An analysis of trucking activity levels is also given to highlight the intensity with which the existing fleet is being used.

Regional Economic Profile 2016 update – 28 February 2017
Infometrics Annual Regional Economic Profiles for 2016 will be available from 28 February to subscribers.
Profiles for every region and district in New Zealand are available. An example online profile for Thames-Coromandel can be viewed here.
We have also developed small area profiles that give detailed insights of towns and communities within a district. An example online profile of Wanaka can be viewed here.
These products provide a wide range of information about your local economy and will help you make informed decisions about your region.

Sector Profile 2016 update – 28 February 2017
Infometrics Sector Profiles for 2016 will be available from 28 February to subscribers.
Our Sector Profiles provide you with a wealth of latest information on your industry or sector via our interactive and easy to use web-platform. A sample profile of accountancy can be viewed here.
The profiles can provide you with:
- Employment trends, occupational trends (to 1000 categories), GDP and earnings
- Forecasts of future employment demand in your industry
- The number of businesses and business size
- Characteristics of workers including age, gender, ethnicity, hours worked, country of birth and highest qualification.
We have developed a unique method for defining sectors – by defining them in terms of both industries and occupations. We can also define the geographical coverage of your sector at a national, regional and territorial authority level, or using customised regions.
