Profiles provide valuable information about our communities

Over the holiday period we are often reminded of how important yet diverse our communities really are.  To help people and organisations gain an understanding of the size of communities and identify their needs, Infometrics makes web-based Community Profiles freely available.

Whether you’re personally interested in a particular area, want to identify community needs, have to develop a long-term strategic plan, or allocating financial resources to where they are needed most, robust knowledge of the demographic characteristics of a community can help you build a better picture of your district or region.

Our interactive web-based Community Profiles provide a unique way of visualising a broad range of demographic data for communities from the Census. The profiles enable users to view data for their district down to area unit level. Users can also compare each area unit against other area units, its parent territorial authority or region, and the New Zealand total.

Infometrics Community Profiles are available via our website.

Update 2024: The Community Profiles have been replaced by the Census module in the Regional Economic Profile, with much greater functionality.
